Ted L. Rastall

Ted L. Rastall, 71, 2423 Aspen Drive, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late Morton and Ruby Westmoreland Rastall. Mr. Rastall was a 1956 graduate of Science Hill High School and also a graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he was employed for 35 years. He was also a past member of the Johnson City Zoning Appeals Board and was an elected Washington County Constable for 20 years. He had also served on the American Cancer Society Board for 11 years as treasurer and was a member of the United States Marine Reserve for 19 years. Mr. Rastall was a member of Central Baptist Church where he had served as an usher. His favorite pastime was fishing, politics and was an avid NASCAR fan especially #24 Jeff Gordon.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Emma Ward Rastall; a son, Scott Rastall and his wife, Julie of Johnson City; a brother, William (Randy) Rastall, Spokane, Washington; a grandson and love of his life, Matthew Rastall, Johnson City and a special nephew, Tim Asher, Johnson City.

Memorial services for Mr. Rastall will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, December 12, 2009, in the Central Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Murray officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service until 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37604.
